AAG appoints new CIO
Shannon based aviation company, Atlantic Aviation Group (AAG), have this week announced the appointment of Paul O’Brien as their new Chief Information Officer.
Mr. O’Brien joins the company bringing extensive international experience having worked with multinational companies to transform their business using IT as an enabler.
This is a new role in Atlantic Aviation Group, which aims to further enhance and develop AAG’s technology capability, to help grow and transform the business.
Commenting on his appointment, AAG CEO Shane O’Neill said, “We are thrilled to welcome Paul to the company as we continue to advance our technological capabilities. The appointment of a CIO has a central role to play in how we create value for all stakeholders. Paul’s experience and enthusiasm for how digital technology can support us in meeting our customers current and future needs compliments our business strategy.”
Discussing his new role within AAG, Mr. O’Brien said, “Technology is playing an ever-increasing role in aviation, especially considering the many ways in which digital transformation can enable new business models across the entire industry. Atlantic Aviation Group is an aviation solutions provider specialising in Aircraft Maintenance, Aviation Training (Atlantic Aviation Institute), Design Engineering and Continuing Airworthiness Management based in Shannon Airport. Over 50 years old, they were acquired in April 2015 by Mayo man Patrick Jordan who has overseen significant change and growth over the past three years.
