Munster Hurling Final

Shannon based combination Atlantic Aviation Group/Molex will contest their first Munster GAA Junior Inter-firm hurling final at 8.30 p.m. on Tuesday night against the Tipperary ETB in Seanchoill Astroturf, Corbally, Limerick.

The Shannon men have been impressive on their march to the final beating Dromoland Castle, Zimmer and the LIT Staff before seeing off last year’s champions H&MV Engineering in the Munster semi final.

Team selector Brian Stritch said, “We are delighted to have made it to the Munster final after beating some very strong competition along the way.  We managed to squeeze through some very tight games which is probably a product of having a fairly settled team throughout the season.“

He continued, “This combination has been together for about 5 years and after many near misses, we have finally progressed to the Munster final. It is great to see such talented players who are normally rivals come together and produce such good hurling. There are players from something like 16 different clubs represented on our team which shows the diversity of people working in the Shannon area.”

The winner of Tuesday’s Munster final will face Connacht and Galway champions Safety Direct for the right to play Creagh Concrete of Antrim in the All Ireland final.
