Atlantic Aviation Group 3-10 Clancy Construction 2-11

Atlantic Aviation Group Hurling

Atlantic Aviation Group got their interfirm hurling campaign back on track last night following a hard-fought win against Tipperary’s Clancy Construction under lights in UL. Tony McGann’s men started strongly with two early pointed frees from the razor sharp Daire Keane and another by Tomas Cleary.

Clancy Construction got themselves back into the game with a great goal and followed on with some well taken points. A classy goal from Gavin White and two further frees by Daire Keane put us back in front by the narrowest of margins at the short whistle 1-05 to 1-04.

We made a poor start to the second half with the concession of a goal and some further points by their dangerous forward line. Points by Alan Brigdale and another Daire Keane free kept us in the mix. Clancy tagged on some more points before we got two goals by Daire Keane and Tomas Cleary.

Further points by Gavin White and Daire Keane gave us a 4 point lead going into the last 10 minutes. Clancy kept trying right to the end put just 2 points between the sides as the game entered the final few minutes. With our backs working overtime we managed to hold out to the end to earn a hard earned but well-deserved win.

We are now into the Munster semi-final which will be played in the coming weeks. Well done to all the players and mentors on a great win.
