Accomplishing my EASA Part 66 Cat. A License programme from Atlantic Aviation Group Training Academy was very advantageous as Atlantic Aviation Group Training Academy is one of the facilities that has approval to run a training academy ( Part-147) and carry out heavy base maintenance under the same roof. The programme had a good balance between theory and practical.

All the modules were delivered by experienced aviation professionals and they had an excellent teaching approach. The programme also covered mechanical, electrical and sheet metal workshops. The lectures and workshops were immediately followed by on-the-job training. I was stationed round all the sections of an aircraft like cabin, cargo, air conditioning, night controls, landing gears, engines, electrical and avionics systems. During this time, I had an opportunity to work with highly experienced maintenance personnel who taught me numerous technical skills, inspection techniques and troubleshooting procedures.

I found all the engineers very helpful, friendly and they supported me throughout the training. This programme equipped me with relevant knowledge, skills, attitude and right values to be a competent aviation professional. Upon completion of my programme, I received EASA Part66 Cat. A license from Irish Aviation Authority. Being a Cat. A licensed mechanic is already a promising start with an opportunity to upgrade myself to B1/B2 engineer with further examinations and experience.

Everything about Atlantic Aviation Group Training Academy sets you up for a career in aircraft maintenance from the excellent instructors, the experience on different types of aircraft, and the high standards set within the academy ensure one trained inside in Atlantic Aviation Group Training Academy can shine given an opportunity anywhere in the world.

The training programme is for those with a passion for aircraft as the programme is very intensive and requires a good bit of effort put in. The instructors are very experienced, knowledgeable and put in every effort o make sure we pass our modules first time out with the help of reviews. The instructors also made use of every opportunity to bring us down to the programme to show and explain the various components and systems on live aircraft.

I can’t thank the training department enough for the support and direction given to me over the duration of my course. The 52 weeks on On-the-Job training provided on live aircraft is a very good opportunity for hands-on experience and to gain in-depth knowledge of aircraft systems and components. The teams on the programme including the Lead Engineers and Team Leaders lead us by example to work safely. We have been trained to produce a high standard of work in a limited time. The best part about Ireland in the people. From day one in Ireland I did not face any difficulty in interacting with the people here. The word ‘friendly’ would be an understatement for the Irish.

To become a Aircraft Maintenance Engineer is both physically and mentally demanding occupation which not only requires great knowledge about complex aircraft systems but also hands on skills to achieve it. The exams and training involved requires immense hard work to get through.

Thanks to my instructors in Atlantic Aviation Group Training Academy who taught me both theoretical and practical aspects involved in the industry in a fascinating manner. The professional education from this rigorous training prepares one as a workforce to International standards. It was a pleasure working with qualified engineers from many countries who were happy to teach and work with me in a live aircraft environment. My 62+ weeks on the programme with these great team members shaped me to gain adequate hand skills, have an in-depth knowledge of various systems of aircraft and increase my pace of work in a safe and orderly manner. One good thing I noticed about Ireland especially along the west coast is that people here are very friendly that I have been enjoying my stay for the last couple of years. This is a great destination which has a long history in aviation and also if one likes exploring nature, then this is a don’t miss on your list.

Of all the things I learnt at Atlantic Aviation Group Training Academy, the one important point that everyone made clear was that being an Aircraft Engineer is no joke, because we are dealing with the safety of hundreds of people on board that aircraft. This training could be described as a fantastic way to combine the physical skills of aircraft maintenance with the theoretical side.

The instructors are truly excellent and have vast experience in aviation. They tried their best to impart all their knowledge to the students with open minds. The instructors would go far beyond their job description to ensure the individual needs of students are met and that training is progressive. During my time on the programme, I have been fortunate to work with a group of really knowledgeable people and build a career that I find really interesting and enjoyable. As a trainee, I was given tasks along with fellow students and worked together to complete those tasks like a normal employee. I have gained a great deal of confidence from putting theory into practice straightaway. Ireland is a beautiful country with breath-taking sceneries and lovely beaches. The friendliness and hospitality for which the Irish people are renowned contributes to the ease with which overseas students adapt to the way of life.

Markus Brunner

These days, it is difficult to find a B767 to B757 differences course but the Atlantic Aviation Group provided just that! I travelled all the way from New Zealand to Shannon and I was not disappointed. The professionalism of the trainers, Tony, Aidan and Balazs was top class and although I had to get used to the Irish accent, they were always happy to explain the content further.

The practical training that I attended in the hangar was fantastic as the aircraft in the hangar was in for a c-check. I was very impressed with the facilities and administration personnel and would highly recommend AAG to anyone, anytime.

Abdelaziz Jlajli

After the B767 B1/B2 course, I have personally gained an enormous amount of knowledge that I can now apply to my work as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. I liked that this course covered a broad range of topics and gave really good tips and advice through hands on presentations, not just a focus on slides.

Although English is not my first language, the course was conducted at a good level of comprehension. The trainers, Tony and Aidan, were excellent and very flexible to meet the course deadline and my needs, I learned a lot. I definitely recommend Atlantic Aviation Group Training Academy to all Boeing Aircraft Maintenance Engineers.
